Another fast, family-friendly game by Mayday, you know you can trust us to bring light-hearted gateway/filler games to your table. Choose your LANGUAGE! That's right, in what we think MIGHT be a first for a card game, you can choose your langauge as English or Chinese! We have teamed up with BGL in Taiwan to bring you the option of getting your game in CHINESE if you prefer, and at no extra cost! See more about BGL below. Just select the Chinese Langauge reward version if you want the Chinese version!. This has the BEST of what Mayday does, it is a great card game AND a great dexterity game.
Honestly, this may be our best game ever. The GAME COMES IN A FREAKIN' GARBAGE CAN! Yes, the garbage can IS the game box. How cool is that?

The first few rewards look great but we have some unique 'micro-stretch rewards' coming as the project progresses, including 3 full expansions: 'The Office Expansion', 'The Dorm Room Expansion', and 'The Family Expansion'. Special Limited Edition Garbage Can for the first 3,000 backers only (unlocked at the $35 k Stretch goal). These will NEVER be available again and are for our first 3,000 backers only, after that these are gone for good. Our LE Viceroy cover went FAST and we expect these high-end metallic looking versions to go really, really quickly. There’s an epic battle of wits being slyly waged among you and your roommates.
No one speaks of it, or even acknowledges its existence, but when it comes to taking out the garbage, it’s all about the art of the dodge. In the pursuit of avoidance, each precariously stacked banana peel represents a small victory. That candy wrapper hidden in the deep recesses of your room is a silent success. But the greenish milk carton you secretly stashed under your roommate’s bed, that was a stroke of genius! That is until you get caught making a mess while everyone else pretends they would never be so childish—as to get caught.Be careful and be cunning. In Garbage Day players take turns dexterously stacking Garbage Cards one at a time onto the overflowing Garbage Can, or stashing Garbage Cards in their Rooms. But once a player’s Room gets too full, he/she must clean it by stacking all the cards from that Room on top of the Garbage Can, very carefully, one by one.If Garbage Cards fall off the Garbage Can during your turn, take those cards and place them in your Overflow Pile.
If your Overflow Pile gets too big, you will be eliminated from the game. If all other players have been eliminated from the game, you win!' Have played this a couple of times. It is a very fun and sometimes challenging game. Great mix of push your luck and take that mechanisms. Funny thing about the game is that you're getting a game from one of the best card sleeve makes that you probably don't want to sleeve the cards to play as they will make them have less friction to keep them in place.
I am really looking forward to playing this again and adding it to my collection of must own Mayday Games.' - Jeff Briggs -Farmington Utah.' It is a nice game, easy to play and easy to carry!
The rules are very good, I like the rules. Very simple, I like it!' Sam -Playtester, Beijing China at DiceCon.' I played this game in beta, soooo much fun!' - Brian Kelley, played the beta version before graphics.'
Our family had the opportunity to play the prototype. My kids are still asking when we can get our own copy. They loved it.'
-Dave 'Blue Eyes' Adams, Farmington Utah.' This is one of the best games I have ever played!'
- Sam Curtis, Suzhou China.' As one of Shane's playtesters I can't wait to have this in my hands. Garbage Day was hot competition with my old co-workers, and a fun game my wife and I both enjoyed. Thanks Seth for giving this one a shot!' -Peter Comment #3 on the KS project!' The game looks like a very light and fun game.
I will be keeping my eyes out for this one!' -Rick Monson, Chantilly, Virginia -On.
So let's face it, we have had a lot of previous KS projects and all of the games have been successful. You'd think by now that we would be 'set' and not need to do Kickstarters any more, right? Well, not so much.
While Mayday has been successful, we are still a very small company, just 5 employees! All of our cash is tied up in other projects.
In fact if you look at our history we introduced just 3 new games in 2010 and 2011 before Kickstarter. Since KS we have had nearly 20 new games, but that is ALL thanks to backers like you. By doing the KS program we are able to gauge interest and get the game made in much larger quantities and with cheaper prices to our customers. This is a large part of why we can offer our last few KS projects at such a low price point.
With this much stuff in the game and such a small company, this would only be possible with the support of the KS community. What about 'EU Friendly' or 'Canadian Friendly'?
Will I be getting hit with a big customs/VAT/Duty Bill?We can't guarantee you won't be hit with a bill, but we can assure you that the actual value of the rewards being shipped to you is low, lower than the $10 USD VAT/CUSTOMS threshold for even the strictest countries. Remember, we are covering $4.54 of shipping for EVERY BACKER already, so the true value of the game is going to be less than $15, even if you add on some stretch reward expansions later. That is because we will state the value of the reward at our replacement cost rather than MSRP. We aren't sure what the retail price will be yet, so we can't even put that on the shipment, though we are leaning toward a price of $20 USD on the game. This is part of why we are limiting rewards to one per backer, because this is a light-weight shipment and we can't ship two copies together as cheaply as one copy twice! We can say that we shipped Viceroy directly to several backers in the EU and to all our backers in Canada via this same method and none of them got hit with duties/customs, and that game was worth a lot more. We won't guarantee you won't be hit with some fees/duties, but we are 98% sure you won't.
Wait a minute, did you say a BUBBLE MAILER? Not so fast, I want a box! Don't you dare ship my rewards in a bubble mailer! Hey, we are quoting very cheap shipping here because of the weight, and this specific game comes in a sturdy plastic can, not an easily smashed cardboard box. It is tough and we expect it will be able to handle the rough ride through the mail.
Shipping the game in a box will add about 150 grams and another $0.30-0.60 in packaging to the cost of your shipment. Sure we can do that, but it will cost you. If you want your reward to ship in a box rather than a bubble mailer, here are the rates. BGL was established in 2013. It’s a board game shop in Taichung, Taiwan. At the beginning we just sell our 'space' to customer that they can spend timein our shop with comic books, novels, puzzle and unlimited drinks.
We also sell and rent board game. We decide to act for games in 2015, because we want to introduce more and more board games to Chinese player.
Contact with us:[email protected] will be printing the game for the Chinese market and joining in with all the card rewards for backers too, and that the price for shipping will be the same as the English release on the Kickstarter project. Risks and challengesThis project doesn't have any risks to speak of if we meet our goal. The factory is ready to publish and the art and layout has been completed.
Any additionally needed changes should be completed prior to the end of the campaign. We have launched and distributed more than 20 prior Kickstarter Projects.Anyone missing anything at all from any prior project please send us a message here on Kickstarter and we will get you replacements sent immediately. We have had over 15,000 backers so we expect a few of you may have slipped through the cracks. Thanks again for all of the support! We have just one partially undelivered KS projects at present, Viceroy, which ended in December 2013 and is a few months behind schedule. We expect all of the rewards will be delivered by August, even worldwide. We have just recently delivered on Meteor, Hold Your Breath, Dead Man's Draw, Coconuts Duo and Chopstick Dexterity Mega Challenge 3000, all of which were late.
We purposely delayed this project to be sure all these other outstanding projects were delivered. We have had 20 Kickstarter projects complete and note that all but Viceeroy are totally fulfilled and we will strive to get this project completed and all rewards to backers in a timely manner. Due to the last several projects being late, we are putting extra time into our forecast for delivery to ensure this project will NOT be delayed beyond the estimated delivery date.
Though the name of the game doesn't really signify anything, it does make the game feel more of a time-killing, no-strategy game. To play Trash, you'll need nothing but a deck of regular playing cards and a minimum of two players. In case more people wish to play, add a deck of cards per two additional players. The objective of the game is to complete a sequence of 10 cards (1-10 numbered or wild) before the opponent(s). Be ready with a deck(s) of cards and some friends, and quickly go through the instructions for playing the Garbage card game. The rules to play are quite simple, and it wouldn't take you or your friends much time to understand them. Check them out. ◈ Let the first player begin by drawing a card from the draw stack (players can also draw from the discard stack later in the game).◈ Say the card drawn is a 5; then the player has to place the 5 card on the fifth spot in his/her sequence of 10 cards (face-up), and pick up the face-down card present on that spot.◈ Suppose the face-down card is an 8, then the player should place it in the eighth spot (third from the bottom right), and repeat the same procedure by picking up the face-down card on the eighth spot.
◈ In case the face-down card corresponds with the number of its position in the sequence, it is discarded and the player's turn ends. To illustrate this with an example, let's say the player placed the 8 card (from the previous step) on the eighth position, and picked up the face-down card, which turned out to be another 8; the player should discard it and end his/her turn.◈ In case a player draws a King, he has the power to use it in any blank spot in his 10-card sequence.◈ In case a player draws a queen or jack, he/she should necessarily discard them and end his/her respective turn.
